For years, manufacturers have been working to develop a new broadcast standard. Finally, they came up something new called HDTV. HDTV stands for High Definition Television. When the U.S. goverment approved this system, the manufacaturers went to work to produce these TVs. This created a huge demand for the HD remote control.
HDTV is the biggest scientific development in broadcasting since the color TV. It provides wider pictures with a lot of detail and clarity from or like motion pictures. The picture is accompanied by multi-channel, high definition quality sound. When you compare regular TV to HDTV, there is no comparison.
HDTV has 1080 lines (1125 total) compared to 486 lines for regular TV - NTSC (525 total). The vertical circuit runs at twice the speed. You can easily see the scan lines regular TV, but on HDTV, they are invisible. Thats the miracle of HDTV. The difference in video and sound quality is spectacular.
