How much does Fixer cost?

Fixer costs $80 per Fixer per hour, except in times of limited availability. You will always know your hourly rate before booking your timeslot, shown here:

The hourly rate is displayed next to each time slot when you schedule a Fixer.

Prorated pricing after the first hour

After the first hour of service for each Fixer, we prorate by the minute. That means that just because your job takes 65 minutes, you don't have to pay for the full second hour.

Materials charges

If you don't have the materials you need, no problem. We carry a bunch of materials in our materials bag, for which we charge $5-30 depending on how much we use. We can also go to the store for you for the cost of $50 plus a standard 20% markup on the materials we purchase. The other guys charge their hourly rate plus markup - which adds up REALLY fast!

The reason we charge for store trips is that many jobs require special parts and materials: custom outlets, special plumbing parts, paint, or hardware. Many customers have told us that having a skilled Fixer find and bring the right part is a valuable service. Charging our labor rate for shopping doesn't seem right, but charging nothing for shopping is a steep cost, as Fixers are being paid for their whole shift, and running to the store can take a while. When we know special parts will be needed for your job, we often go to the store before we arrive so we can save you time.

Payment Methods

We prefer to be paid by credit card, but we also accept cash and personal checks. More info

Tipping Fixers

Finally, you never have to worry about tipping Fixers. Tips are not expected, but also not refused. (Our Fixers are full-time employees, with benefits.) If you're looking for guidance on tips - we recommend $10-20 for each hour a Fixer works.

Why do some jobs require more than one Fixer?

For some jobs we are asked to do, we require that two or more Fixers come to your location. Examples include:

  • Fan installation
  • Chandelier installation
  • New door installation
  • Large TV Mounting

To maintain a safe work space, and to ensure that we do not cause any unintentional damage, we always send two Fixers. The extra set of hands from a fellow professional really help.  The types of jobs listed above take 20-60 minutes to complete, and we'll let you know right away if we think it'll take longer. As always, we charge our hourly rate for each Fixer that works on your project.
